Operating environment: Works both underground (including high‑gas and dust explosion risk areas) and on the surface. Resists dust, water, and explosion hazards.

Mine types:

Coal mines: Needs explosion‑proof certification – fits high‑gas and coal dust explosion risk areas.

Metal mines: Fits high‑dust, wet underground conditions and heavy surface work.

Typical jobs:

  • Hauling: Moving mine cars, repositioning equipment, transporting roof support materials.
  • Hoisting: Lifting personnel in vertical/inclined shafts, hoisting ore, lowering tunneling gear.
  • Transport: Moving materials along horizontal tunnels, heavy towing on ramps.
  • Mounting spots: Shaft top / pit bottom, inclined shaft hoist rooms, tunnel chambers, fixed work platforms at surface mines, return airway of coal faces.

Modular design. Core parts:

Component Description
Drum System Wraps wire rope; carries and transmits lifting load. Types: single drum, double drum, friction wheel.
Drive System Reducer (planetary / helical gear), coupling, drive shaft.
Brake System Disc or shoe brake, hydraulic / pneumatic power unit.
Power System Explosion-proof or standard motor / hydraulic motor, control cabinet.
Safety System Overwind protection, slack rope protection, load sensor, depth indicator.
Auxiliary Devices Rope guide, tensioner, shuttle car (for endless rope winch), tail wheel (for endless rope winch).

 

How It Works & Operating Logic

Motor drive:

Standard jobs: squirrel‑cage induction motor. Underground: flameproof type.

Supports VFD speed control. Some heavy loads use a hydraulic motor.

Reduction & braking:

Reduction: Hardened gear reducer turns high speed low torque into low speed high torque – efficiency ≥90%.

Braking: Two systems – service brake (normal stop) and emergency brake (panic stop). Hydraulic/pneumatic servo control. Auto brake on power loss – response ≤0.2 s.

Load control:

Closed‑loop system monitors rope tension in real time.

Constant‑speed hoisting / constant torque output – automatically detects load weight and adjusts parameters.

Works with depth indicator for precise travel control – prevents overwind and overrun.

Explosion‑proof design: Flameproof motor (Exd I Mb), intrinsically safe control system – meets coal mine safety regulations.

Safety protections:

  • Emergency brake: Auto‑engages on power loss – response ≤0.2 s, deceleration ≤5 m/s².
  • Overload protection: Stops and alarms when load exceeds 110% of rated.
  • Overwind protection: Mechanical + electronic dual limit – prevents overwind of the conveyance.
  • Applicable standards: GB 20181‑2006, AQ 1035‑2007, and other mining standards.

 

 

Materials, Durability & IP Rating 

High‑strength steel: Drum forged from Q345B or 45# steel. Frame welded thick plate – tensile strength ≥600 MPa.

Wear parts:

  • Drum hard‑faced with wear‑resistant alloy. Wire rope galvanized or plastic‑coated.
  • Brake shoes – high‑friction wear‑resistant material. Gear surfaces carburized and hardened.
  • Industrial rating: IP54 – works in -20°C to 40°C, 95% humidity underground. Some models have CE, ATEX.

Installation, Operation & Maintenance
 
 

Installation requirements:

Must be fixed on a concrete foundation strong enough – levelness error ≤0.1‰.

Coaxiality between shaft center and drum center ≤0.5 mm. Underground installation must interface with gas monitoring.

 
 
 

Operation features:

Three modes: manual, automatic, remote. Visual HMI with fault diagnosis display.

For endless rope winches: works with tensioner, shuttle car, tail wheel, etc.

 
 
 

Routine maintenance:

Daily: Check brake shoe wear, rope tension, lubrication.

Weekly: Measure temperature and vibration of reducer and motor.

Monthly: Calibrate depth indicator and overload protection. Full disassembly every six months.
