Advantages of Mining Sensors

Intrinsically safe design, suitable for high-risk scenarios

Operates entirely within intrinsic safety circuit parameters, posing no risk of igniting gas. It can be directly installed on equipment located in high-gas areas, such as belt conveyors and winches, serving as a core component for underground equipment speed protection.

Multiple detection types, wide compatibility

Supports two detection methods: Hall effect (detects magnetic steel) and photoelectric effect (detects reflective markers). The hall type is suitable for dusty, dimly lit belt roadways with strong anti-interference capability. The photoelectric type is suitable for cleaner winch motors with higher detection accuracy.

Rapid response, timely warning

Response time ≤100 ms, enabling quick detection of sudden speed changes (e.G., sudden belt slippage, unexpected winch acceleration). This is 5 times faster than traditional mechanical speed switches, providing valuable shutdown time for equipment protection systems and preventing incident escalation.

Easy installation and maintenance, low cost

Compact and lightweight, installation time ≤20 minutes. Routine maintenance only requires quarterly cleaning of the detection end (removing dust) and checking the installation gap.

Features of Mining Sensors

The mine speed sensor is an intrinsically safe detection device used in underground coal mines for real-time monitoring of the speed of rotating or linear motion equipment. Its core components include an intrinsically safe enclosure, a hall effect detection module (or photoelectric detection module), a signal processing circuit, and a 12v dc intrinsically safe power interface.

It is widely compatible with key underground equipment such as belt conveyors, scraper conveyors, winches, and motors. Its working principle involves detecting magnetic steel or reflective markers on rotating components of the equipment (e.G., belt conveyor rollers), converting mechanical speed into electrical signals, which are then processed to output switching or frequency signals.

Application of Mining Sensors

Collision avoidance

Ultrasonic sensors prevent machine collisions with material stacks or other equipment.

Vehicle automation

Ir and depth sensors aid autonomous vehicle navigation and operation.

Hydraulic systems

Pressure sensors monitor hydraulic/pneumatic systems for potential failures.

Gas monitoring

Pellistors and other sensors detect toxic/flammable gases (co, methane) and low oxygen levels.

Dust monitoring

Handheld and fixed sensors measure particulate matter (pm) to protect worker respiratory health.

Health monitoring

Vibration sensors (accelerometers) on conveyors, drills detect early wear.

Components of Mining Sensors

FAQ

Q: What are the sensors in mining?

A: These sensors can detect the slightest vibrations caused by explosions, machinery, or natural events, such as earthquakes. Seismic sensors are essential for monitoring the stability of the mine and detecting potential rock falls or collapses.

Q: How many types of speed sensors are there?

A: There are different types of speed sensors: inductive sensors that can be monopolar or bipolar and active sensors that can be magneto-resistive and Hall effect. Monopolar inductive sensors are inductive or magnetic sensors that measure wheel speeds without contact.

Q: Is a speed sensor AC or DC?

A: Active sensors output a digital signal, a DC square wave signal.

Q: How many ohms should a speed sensor have?

A: The typical reading for a passive wheel speed sensor is between 1,000 and 2,500 ohms. This is a normal range for all passive sensors. The specification for active sensors is between 1,000 and 2,500 ohms.

Q: Are speed sensors magnetic?

A: Variable reluctance sensors use an internal coil, pole piece, and magnetic structure to generate a sine wave voltage output from passing gear teeth.
